Kalonzo downplays Raila visit to Moi home

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka has downplayed Opposition leader Raila Odinga’s recent meeting with former President Daniel Moi at his home.

He described the meeting as that of little political significance saying he would follow suit as anyone can meet the retired leader.

“I also want to go and see Mzee Moi we must open this space where we also respect our elders go and even seek their opinions,” he said on arrival from an election observer mission in Azbeirjan.

The National Super Alliance co-principal was seemingly caught off-guard by reports of the meeting which bore similarity to the Kenyatta-Odinga handshake.

The Raila Odinga manoeuvres appear to be rattling the political rank with a section of unsettled politicians claiming that he is on a 2022 campaign mission.

Despite the meeting being fashioned as as a briefing on the new found alliance between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila to reconcile the country, the 2022 political succession undertones were very much palpable in the move.

Kalonzo now insists that despite rocking the Opposition coalition boat, the ‘ship’ remains steady.

“ I belong to a coalition which is validly in place called NASA and I hope it will hold on until the next election,” said Kalonzo
