Kalonzo: Fall of Mugabe, Zuma, Desalegn a sign of coming change in Kenya

National Super Alliance co-principal Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday described the fall of long serving presidents Robert Mugabe of Zimbabwe, Jacob Zuma of South Africa and Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemarian Desalegn as a sign of coming change in Kenya’s leadership.

Speaking during the burial of Prof. Lenno Mbaga Mwambura in Kikambala, Kilifi County, Kalonzo urged NASA supporters not to lose hope in the quest for electoral justice saying the battle has just began.

“You must have seen how President Robert Mugabe left office after clinging to power for far too long without loss of life and that is because the people of Zimbabwe felt it was time for change. In similar fashion Zuma left office. Kenya must also brace itself for change,” said Kalonzo.

While stressing that there is no rift within NASA, the former Vice President said that the coalition will soon hold a meeting to discuss the state of the nation.

South Africa’s new President Cyril Ramaphosa ascended to power on Thursday, February 15 following the resignation of Zuma.

Ethiopia’s PM Desalegn also submitted his resignation on Thursday, February 15 following months of mass protests over the country’s leadership.

Former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe resigned on November 21, 2017 after his party ZANU PF began impeachment proceedings against him.
