Kalonzo gov’t will arrest Joho over forgery – Senator Omar

Mombasa Senator, Hassan Omar, says the opposition government will arrest and prosecute Governor Hassan Ali Joho over allegations of forging his academic certificates should Kalonzo Musyoka be named the opposition flag bearer and eventually elected President by Kenyans on August 8.

Mr Omar claims Wiper Party has sufficient evidence on Joho’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) certificate forgery, which allegedly shows Joho scored grade C+ (plus) in KCSE in 1992.

Mr Omar says besides Mr Joho, other leaders whom Kalonzo administration will put under scrutiny over their alleged fake academic certificates include Nairobi Senator Mike Sonko and Kabete legislator Ferdinand Waititu.

Addressing a press conference in his Mombasa office, Omar maintained that Joho used fake academic papers to secure admission to the University of Nairobi, but accused Jubilee government of politicizing the issue.

Mombasa County chief, Hassan Joho, has, however, distanced himself from the KCSE certificate showing he scored grade C+ (Plus) in the national examination, maintaining his authentic grade in KCSE was a D- (Minus), which he scored in the 1993 KCSE that he sat for at the Serani Secondary School in Mombasa.

Mr Omar, in his speech, also cautioned Wiper political aspirants against violence during party primaries, saying they risk being disqualified if found guilty.

Mr Omar further said Nyali MP’s decision to quit Wiper Party is inconsequential to the outfit’s popularity down at the Coast and the nation at large.
