Kalonzo: I am not a tribal leader

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka has said that he is not focussed on tribal leadership but national position.

Addressing a crowd during the home-coming ceremony of Mwikya Kilonzo, Athi Ward MCA, in Kitui County, the Wiper leader reiterated that he is not in competition to be a tribal king but is focused on vying for presidency in the 2017 general election.

“I am not competing with any leader at that level,” he said.

This comes after Machakos County Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua, last week launched, maendeleo chapchap movement which is aimed at championing faster development in ukambani.

The move was, however, seen as a bid to dethrone Kalonzo Musyoka as area political kingpin.

Kalonzo was accompanied by Kitui County Governor Dr Julius Malombe, Kitui County Senator David Musila, National Assembly Minority Leader Francis Nyenze, among other leaders.
