Kalonzo looking at other options Nyenze

National Assembly Minority leader Francis Nyenze has insinuated that Wiper Democratic Movement (WDM) party leader Kalonzo Musyoka may defect from the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) if he is frustrated.

Speaking at Kyaani Girls Secondary School, Nyenze said that WDM was assessing the situation in CORD and that they would announce their next move in a few weeks.

“It is either Kalonzo is the flag bearer or nothing because Kalonzo should be on the ballot as a presidential candidate,” said Nyenze.

The minority leader also asserted that they were currently searching for like-minded individuals to form a third coalition to unseat the Jubilee party.

Nyenze, a close ally of Kalonzo, accused Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader and CORD Co-Principal Raila Odinga disrespecting Wiper leaders by treating them like ‘flower girls’ rather than equal partners in the coalition.

Nyenze further claimed that Kalonzo was the best candidate to unseat President Uhuru Kenyatta because he has never been adversely mentioned in any corruption scandals unlike his CORD co-principals Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula.

Nyenze, however, ruled out a move to Jubilee arguing that there is no space for someone of Kalonzo’s political stature in the ruling coalition.
