Kalonzo meeting to decide his political future

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka is today expected to lead a make-or-break meeting on the political future of the Kamba community.

Political and religious leaders as well as professionals from the Kamba community are expected to converge at Kiamba Primary School grounds in Komarock, Machakos, on Monday for a convention that is also set to determine whether Kalonzo will remain in the National Super Alliance coalition.

The convention, dubbed “2018 Kamba Unity Declaration Accord” comes amid growing discontent and infighting in the NASA coalition.

“The meeting is expected to deliberate on issues leadership, unity, healing, reconciliation, drop backs and hope for the Kamba Community with murmurs that the community has been sidelined by the ruling regime in the guise that they are ardent supporters of the opposition Leader Kalonzo Musyoka who is in the Opposition outfit NASA,” read a statement from the organising committee.

The four NASA affiliate parties are rocked in a dispute that seem to have been aggravated by the meeting between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga which Kalonzo and his co-principals Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi openly said was not all inclusive.

“It is remarkable to note that all our sons and daughters from this community who supported Jubilee have not been considered for any appointment unlike other communities,” a member of the organising committee noted.

At the same time, there have been active sentiments of realignment in the Western Kenya block and talks of a merger of FORD-Kenya and ANC Parties which are NASA affiliate parties.

Makueni Woman Representative Rose Museo, who is the organising committee chairperson, said the meeting was set to take place on March 16 but was later postponed to April 2.
