Kalonzo meets Wetangula over feud with Raila Odinga
- The two leaders held a lengthy closed-door session at the Wiper headquarters in Karen, Nairobi.
- The meeting comes following Wetangula's July 16 declaration that his party was no longer a member of NASA.
- Kalonzo also urged opposition supporters to ignore headlines that the coalition was on its deathbed.
Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka met his co-principal Moses Wetangula days after he offered to mediate the row between the Ford Kenya leader and Raila Odinga.
The two National Super Alliance (NASA) leaders held a lengthy closed-door session at the Wiper headquarters in Karen, Nairobi, that largely dwelt on the friction in the opposition coalition.
Kalonzo, who was addressing a conference with the theme “Mediation for Development” at Strathmore University in Nairobi, urged opposition supporters to ignore headlines that the coalition was on its deathbed.
“I consider myself an important player in the NASA family and I am not aware of the pronounced “death” of NASA Coalition,” said Kalonzo during the July 26 conference.
Musyoka, during the Tuesday meeting, called for an end of hostilities between supporters of the two coalition leaders to avert a full blown split in NASA.
Wetangula recently accused Odinga of masterminding his ouster from the Senate Minority leader’s slot.
He further alleged that Odinga sidelined his coalition partners when he met with President Uhuru Kenyatta.
