Kalonzo Musyoka grilled at the DCI over his land in Yatta

Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka was on Friday grilled by detectives at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations headquarters on Kiambu Road.

Kalonzo had presented himself before the detectives to set the record straight over his acquisition and ownership of  the controversial Yatta land.

In a short message to journalists on Friday morning, his media team said the former vice president would be presenting the legal and official documents showing how he acquired the said property.

He also invited the second-in-command, DP Ruto to follow suit and present himself before the directorate for scrutiny.

“Hon. Kalonzo and his supporters expect DP Ruto to follow suit and present himself before the same authorities for scrutiny,” the message read.

The latest comes days after DP Ruto claimed publicly that Kalonzo acquired government land in Yatta.

The salvo of shots appeared to be in retaliation to Kalonzo’s claims that DP’s fingerprints were all over corruption scandals involving billions of taxpayers money.

The Wiper leader however rubbished the claims saying as he was a man of integrity and  invited the relevant government agencies to probe the claims.

In a follow up to the matter, Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu who was at the time heading the Lands Ministry said Kalonzo had acquired his land “very regularly and very legally”

She accused DP Ruto of hoodwinking Kenyan youth by giving them wheelbarrows after over 30 years in politics.

After so many years, the only thing that he can show, that he can do is to use the money that he has either sold land, or sold maize, or sold sugar then start buying our children wheelbarrows and mkokoteni,” Ngilu said.
