Kalonzo Musyoka wants defectors out of party

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) co-principal, Kalonzo Musyoka, says that despite his party, the Wiper Democratic Movement, losing several Members of Parliament to Jubilee Party, the opposition coalition will continue gaining more support from the voters.

Musyoka, who was speaking at Thonoa village in Mwingi Central on Saturday, October 22 said that Kenyans were solidly behind the opposition and that they are heading for a win in the 2017 General Election

Kalonzo, speaking a day after facing off with the ruling Jubilee leaders in Machakos during the Mashujaa Day celebrations, reiterated his earlier stand that he has “officially” handed over the defected leaders to President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Jubilee leader.

Musyoka said that CORD will remain united even after the 2017 General Election and will emerge victorious.

This comes even as the Amani National Congress (ANC) on Friday, October 21 approved the formation of an alliance with the opposition Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) hinting at a possibility of fielding a single presidential candidate for the 2017 elections.

Speaking in Machakos after a joint National Executive Committee (NEC) and Parliamentary Group Meeting, party leader, Musalia Mudavadi, said the opposition must unite to ensure a win in the next General Election.
