Kalonzo to re-brand Wiper to One Kenya Movement

Kalonzo to re-brand Wiper to One Kenya Movement

Wiper Democratic Movement leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Monday announced that the party is set to re-brand to One Kenya Movement (OKM) as he eyes the country’s top office in 2022.

Kalonzo said he had been “thinking and dreaming” of fashioning Wiper into a national outfit that could unite the country.

Addressing a convention of leaders from the Kamba community in Machakos, Kalonzo said the 2017 election period was over and it was time to re-strategise.

“We are going to re-brand and I propose that because we have brought closure to the 2017 election cycle, we now rebrand and I will be calling a delegates conference where we now look at Wiper. Our clarion will now be One Kenya Movement. This is what I have been thinking and dreaming of,” said Kalonzo.

The Wiper leader said he would be traversing the country as he seeks to reach out to all Kenyans and have them be part of the One Kenya Movement.

He steered clear of the wrangles in the National Super Alliance but informed the Ukambani leaders that his co-principals; Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Musalia Mudavadi had sent their greetings.

The event, dubbed “2018 Kamba Unity Declaration Accord” was attended by Governors Charity Ngilu (Kitui), Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni), Senator Mutula Kilonzo, ex-Senator Johston Muthama among others.

The meeting held at Kiamba Primary School grounds in Komarock, Machakos, was meant to rally the Kamba leaders behind Mr. Musyoka ahead of the 2022 elections.
