Kalonzo woos Nyamira electorate, asks them to back CORD

Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka camped in Nyamira County on Monday, drumming up support for his political outfit as well as opposition coalition CORD.

Addressing a rally at Kemera market, Kalonzo asked the electorate to back CORD in 2017, as the coalition plans to unseat the Jubilee administration.

The former Vice President affirmed his interest in the highest office in the land, saying that he is determined to clinch the Presidential seat on the CORD ticket.

Kalonzo also took the time to refute claims that he had joined Jubilee Party, saying he will soldier on until they send Jubilee packing.

He criticised the Jubilee government, saying that the Uhuru Kenyatta led administration had failed to honour its campaign promises.

Borabu MP Ben Momanyi told Deputy President William Ruto that he should stop engaging the opposition, saying: “He should not address us (Ruto), let him come to CORD and Wiper, he has no business addressing us who will be our flag bearer.”

Kalonzo assured women that CORD’s government will ensure that the gender rule is honored.

“We will have a government for women, we will consider gender disparity in our government,” Kalonzo promised.

The Wiper party leader toured Kemera, Kebirigo and Keroka towns of Nyamira County.

He was accompanied by parliamentary aspirants Victor Swanya, Stephen Mogaka and other Wiper party delegates.
