Kalonzo’s Wiper rebels snub disciplinary committee summons

Wiper Party rebels led by Machakos Governor, Dr Alfred Mutua and six Ukambani Members of Parliament, on Friday, November 11 snubbed summons by the party’s disciplinary committee over their links with the ruling Jubilee coalition.

Mutua, who formed his party, Maendeleo Chap Chap, alongside MPs John Munuve (Mwingi North), Joe Mutambu (Mwingi Central), Katemi Makenga (Kaiti), Regina Ndambuki (Kilome), Kisoi Munyao (Mbooni) and Robert Mutemi (nominated) failed to honour the seven-day notice to appear before the disciplinary committee.

Speaking at the Wiper Party headquarters, Wiper Party’s Executive Director, Jared Siso, said the disciplinary committee has issued fresh summons for the seven to appear before it on November 24.

Members of County Assemblies who are disloyal to the party have also been summoned by the committee.

Last week, Wiper Party formed a disciplinary committee with the Party’s  National Executive Council naming Haron Ndubi as the chairperson while Lilian Omondi, Mutheu Muna, Abubakar Yusuf and Jacob Mutula were named committee members.

Speaking separately after snubbing the summons, Mwingi Central MP, Joe Mutambo, however, said that he does not recognize the disciplinary committee formed by the party.
