Kamau Thugge to testify against former boss Henry Rotich in Kimwarer, Arror dams case
Former treasury Permanent secretary Kamau Thugge will now testify against his former boss Henry Rotich in the Ksh.63 billion Kimwarer and Arror dams’ scandal.
The court allowed the DPP to have his way after he made the application through senior assistant DPP Alexander Muteti
The court has also discharged former wildlife Permanent secretary Susan Kimutai koech who will also now become a prosecution witness.
Chief magistrate Douglas Ogoti has ordered that the cash bail deposited in court to be returned to the suspects.
The former CS was charged alongside 20 others with multiple counts including abuse of office, conspiracy to commit an economic crime, conferring a benefit and single sourcing for the insurance of the projects.
Muteti has asked the court to allow him one month to produce 18 Italians charged alongside Kenyan officials.
“Italy was the most hit by COVID-19 we were not able to process the matter against appearance of number 8 to 26,we have placed legal assistance with the government of Italy to help with the suspects ” said Muteti
The case will be mentioned on the 15th of February
