Kamba elders denounce Jubilee deal with GEMA

A section of Kamba elders have denounced a recent deal reached with the GEMA faction to support President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election bid come next year.

The elders, majorly drawn from Masinga in Machakos County, on Monday, September 19 dismissed the agreement saying that reports indicating they had defected to Jubilee Party were misleading and untrue.

Led by the Masinga Sub County Council of Elders chairman, James Kaimeti, the group has declared their stand with the Wiper Party and not Jubilee.

Speaking in a recent ceremony where they crowned a new elder, Lawrence Maingi, the chairman dismissed the deal insisting their loyalty was still with Kalonzo Musyoka.

“We are not part of Jubilee and for all defectors, they should stay away. They will not see our support in 2017,” said Kaimeti.
