Kambi’s Academic Qualifications Challenged In Court

The petitioner through his advocate Samuel Aduda said that allowing the cabinet secretary to continue serving in his current capacity is a threat to good governance, suitability and competence.

Omanga bases his stand on the cabinet secretary’s academic qualifications.

Omanga has asked the court to compel Kambi to provide his academic papers as proof of qualification.

Justice Mumbi Ngugi has scheduled the case for hearing on February 11, 2014.

Kambi is among cabinet secretaries serving in the Jubilee Coalition Government and is in charge of Labour, Social Security and Services.

He was the Member of Parliament representing Kaloleni constituency in the previous government but lost his seat in the 2013 elections.

The cabinet secretary is a key member of the Party of National Unity (PNU).

The nomination, alongside that of Secretary for the Ministry of Interior and Coordination of National Government Cabinet Secretary Joseph Ole Lenku was approved by House Select Committee on Appointments.
