Kanus Gideon Moi urged to join NASA

Kakamega County Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has extended an invite to Kenya African National Union (KANU) leader and Baringo Senator Gideon Moi to the proposed National Super Alliance (NASA) Coalition saying it is the only vessel capable of dislodging Jubilee from power.

Oparanya met Senator Moi at a thanks-giving ceremony for renowned activist Amos Olempaka, who graduated from Mount Kenya University, in Sokotei, Baringo South Sub-County.

The Kakamega governor assured Mr Moi that they (opposition) are not relenting in forming a formidable force capable of mounting a serious challenge for Jubilee in 2017 polls, which he accused of ineffective leadership and corruption.

Senator Moi has, however, remained adamant that the independence party is not ready to fold into any coalition as widely speculated.

Governor Oparanya, who is also Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) deputy party leader, reiterated that the party is keen to hold free and fair nominations.

KANU is seen as a crucial addition to the NASA Coalition because of its followership in the vote-rich Rift Valley, which is viewed as a Jubilee Party stronghold.

Jubilee party, on the other hand, has dismissed NASA as a lame coalition of self-seeking leaders.
