Katitu Denied Bail

Katitu's lawyers sought bail for the officer attached to Kasarani Police Station when he appeared before judge Roseline Korir.

Katitu had been charged with the murder of Kenneth Kimani Mwangi a resident of Githurai-45 Estate.

Under the new constitution murder is a bailable offense but circumstances surrounding Katitu’s case led to his bail denial.

Katitu's arrest made headlines when Githurai-45 Residents took to the streets to protest his arrest paralyzing traffic along the busy Thika Super-Highway.

The residents who joined hands with human rights' activists demanded the release of Katitu who they claim was a crime buster.

They said Katitu had played a major role in fighting crime in Githurai area.
