Kavuludi Overturns IGs Directive on Police Recruits Training

NPSC chairman Johnstone Kavuludi asked the 10,000 police recruits who had been instructed to report to police college for training not to do so.

Earlier this week, Mr. Boinett, acting on a directive from President Uhuru Kenyatta, ordered the 10,000 police recruits, whose enrollment to the police service was halted by the High Court, to report to Kiganjo Police Training College on April, Sunday 12th, 2015.

Addressing the press, Mr Kavuludi said that the recruits should not report until the stalemate facing their selection is resolved.

Kavuludi said that consultations between stakeholders among them NPSC, the Independent Police Oversight Authority (IPOA) and the national government are ongoing on the way forward.

The selection process of the 10,000 recruits was halted by the High Court after claims of bribery and other irregularities emerged.

The High Court is set to rule on the matter later this month.
