KCB Mvita branch closed after employee tests positive for Covid-19

KCB Bank Mvita branch in Mombasa has been temporarily closed after one of the staff members tested positive for Covid-19.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, KCB CEO Joshua Oigara said the branch will remain closed for three days with the approval of the Central Bank of Kenya to enable immediate cleaning and disinfection of the premises.

“Our priority remains safeguarding the safety and well-being of all our staff, customers and other stakeholders during these difficult times.” said Oigara.

The KCB CEO further stated that employees who were working with the male patient are currently undergoing counselling and screening to ensure their safety and well-being.

“As the fight against this pandemic continues, we have taken several precautionary measures internally, in line with the guidelines issued by government agencies. We continue to provide support to staff and their families during this period of the pandemic” he added.

Customers set to be affected by the closure have been advised to seek services from nearby branches.
