KCB top financial brand in Social Media use in Africa

KCB Group has been declared Africa’s most dominant social media brand in banking in the latest report by Africa Brand Index Rankings.

The bank has been hailed for its outstanding use of social media platforms engaging with the customer service directly.

The ranking confirmed how the Bank has advanced to the 20th position overall in the Top 25 African Brands on Social Media.

The KCB CEO Joshua Oigara acclaimed how the bank managed to increase its brand awareness online, as well as it being keen to leverage on social media to meet its business objectives .

“Social Media has grown from being a mere digital channel for ‘socializing’ to one of the most powerful digital marketing tools for products and brands. It has also proven to be a very cost-effective way of communicating to a global audience,” said Mr Oigara. “We have also seen an increase in engagement where more and more customers are realizing that they can effectively communicate with us through social media and expect timely feedback.”

The organization beat other top competitors including GT Bank, First Bank, Ned Bank and First National Bank to emerge top.

In the previous year, the KCB Group was accredited as the front runner of the “Best Use of Social Media by a Financial Institution in Africa”.

This was initiated during the Social Media Africa Awards in Lagos Nigeria.
