KCPE candidate stabbed by boyfriend hours before exam

A Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) candidate from Maara Sub-County, Tharaka Nithi County, was on Tuesday morning forced to sit her Mathematics paper in hospital after she was attacked by her boyfriend.

The Iruri Primary School student was on her way to school on Tuesday morning when the man attacked her with a knife and stabbed her on the head severally before fleeing.

Maara OCPD Johnstone Kabusia said First Aid was issued to the girl to allow her sit for the Mathematics paper after which she was rushed to the hospital for further medical attention.

Circumstances surrounding the actions of the suspect, who has gone into hiding, remain unclear but police have since launched a manhunt for the suspect.
