KCPE: School teacher, director arraigned in court after pupil sent away

A director and teacher from Framar Junior Academy in Kirinyaga have been charged after a KCPE pupil was chased away from the exam room.

The duo who were arrested on Tuesday appeared before Kerugoya Chief Magistrate Alex Ithuku on Wednesday morning.

Kirinyaga Deputy County Commissioner Daniel Ndege said they were forced to intervene for the student to sit for his exams.

They were charged with obstructing the pupil from sitting for the KCPE exam.

They denied the charges and were released on Ksh. 50,000 cash bail or Ksh. 200,000 bond.

Their case will be heard on November 11, 2019.

The exam kicked off well in Kirinyaga county despite heavy downpour in the morning.
