KCSE 2019 results expected to be released today

Results for KCSE 2019, the national secondary school examinations are to be released on Wednesday.

Officials from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) are said to have held a meeting before submitting the results to the President.

Education CS George Magoha had said the results would be released before Christmas Day.

This despite protests from a section of teachers who were marking the examinations.

Markers in Laikipia, Starehe Girls Centre in Nairobi and Machakos Girls High School threatened to stall the process over what they termed as poor pay.

However, KNEC later announced that the dispute had been resolved.

The marking of the KCSE 2019 papers resumed and the process was completed around the country on Thursday last week.

Approximately 700,000 candidates are expected to receive their results on Wednesday.

Several cases of cheating were reported in parts of the country during the exam period.

The Education CS raised concern over Kisii, Migori and Nairobi’s Eastleigh areas.

He revealed that 90 phones were confiscated over suspected cases of cheating.

Prof. Magoha however maintained that there had been no cases of exam leakage as had been reported in previous years.
