KCSE candidate hangs self after receiving results in Kisii
A student who sat the 2018 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examination on Friday committed suicide shortly after receiving his results in Bokomweri village, Kisii County.
Confirming the incident, area Chief Meshack Nyang’ara said the deceased checked his results through the Short Message Service (SMS) line provided by the Education Ministry.
He added that, on receiving the results, the deceased went into the house without uttering a word, only for his body to later be found hanging from the roof.
The administrator added that the deceased’s grades which led to his actions are still yet to be established.
His body was taken to a nearby mortuary pending an autopsy.
