KCSE candidate in Homa Bay found with money to buy exam papers

A KCSE candidate at Gendia School in Karachuonyo, Homa Bay County, was on Tuesday morning found in possession of Ksh.22,000, in an alleged plot buy exam papers.

The candidate was found with money inside his school bag in the dormitory, following a search conducted on all candidates before sitting the exam.

The cash is said to have been solicited from 22 out of the 161 candidates, with each student reportedly contributing between Ksh.200 to Ksh.500 with the intention of buying exam papers to help them pass the test.

The surprise search comes barely two days after some candidates in the school destroyed property, protesting what they said was the teachers and supervisors refusing to leak the national exam to them.
