KCSE finalist killed in road accident

A 19-year-old boy who sat his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) last month was on Tuesday killed in a road accident.

The student, identified as Dan Omondi, died after a motorcycle they were riding on rammed into an oncoming vehicle along the Awendo – Uriri highway in Uriri, Migori County.

According to a relative, the deceased, suffered head and spinal injuries on Tuesday, December 6.

Awendo OCPD, Benjamin Mwanzia, said the deceased and the boda boda rider rammed into an oncoming car while trying to navigate their way to the main road from a feeder road.

Mwaniza, however, said that police are still investigating the accident.

He has also raised an alarm over the rising cases of accidents involving motorcycles saying that boda boda riders have been notorious on the roads.

He said that police will be more strict with road users especially during this festive season.
