KCSE Student hospitalised after taking brain boosting drugs

A Form Four student from Kiranga Secondary School was rushed to hospital after he allegedly took a drug that he believed would enhance his brain capacity as he sat the Kenya Certificate for Secondary Examinations (KCSE).

The student allegedly developed cold feet as the national exams entered their second week, prompting him to consume a drug identified as Herodin.

The pupil is currently receiving clinical help at Kandara sub- County hospital in Murang’a, and he is due to sit the remaining exams at the facility.

Elsewhere, Ahero Primary School’s Head Teacher has been interdicted for conducting illicit remedial classes at the school.

12 teachers, who were present when the Education Principal Secretary Belio Kipsang visited the institution, were also arrested Monday.

The government had previously issued a ban on holiday tuition, a directive which the head teacher and the other educators ignored.
