KDF boss General Francis Ogolla to be buried on Sunday, family says

Speaking to Citizen Digital, the family revealed that the late General Ogolla had outlined in his Will that, upon his demise, he be laid to rest within 72 hours.

The burial will be preceded by a memorial service at his local church in Nduru.

"Additionally, a Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 26th, 2024, at the Ulinzi Sports Complex in Langata, where he found solace in his biweekly runs," said the family in a statement.

Ogolla was killed in a helicopter crash on Thursday at Sindar area in Elgeyo Marakwet County, alongside nine other military personnel.

Before his passing, Ogolla was expected in Siaya County on Saturday, April 20 to commemorate his father, Joel Okech's upcoming 100th birthday celebration with the festivities set to continue into Sunday and engage the local community.

On Thursday, President William Ruto announced three days of national mourning following the tragic passing of General Francis Ogolla.
