Stay out of Kericho County politics, CS Charles Keter told

A section of residents from Kericho County have urged Energy and Petroleum Cabinet Secretary Charles Keter to stop controlling Kericho County politics.

Joseph Biwott, Ken Maritim, Johnston Cheruiyot and Anna Soi who were speaking on behalf of the residents termed Charles Keter’s recent bid to rearrange and dictate county politics during the run up to the 2017 General Election as distasteful.

The leaders claimed Keter’s move was meant to undermine some county leaders especially area Governor Paul Chepkwony.

Speaking to Chamgei FM during a meeting in Kericho, Maritim appealed to the Energy CS to concentrate on is docket and leave residents of Kericho to make their decisions without any external influence.

He also suggested that if Keter wants to engage in Kericho County politics, he should consider resigning from his position as the cabinet secretary.

Ann Soi on her part said Keter should recognise that voters have the final say on whom they intend to put into power in any elective positions

Kericho Governor Paul Chepkwony affirmed that the CS’s remarks did not scare him and that political times have changed as the power to elect leaders is with the people.
