Kenya Army helicopter crashes in Masinga, two people killed

A Kenya Army helicopter that was on a training flight crashed in Kithyoko, Machakos County on Monday.

The chopper with Reg. No. AU003-539 crashed at around 11am at a farm killing its two occupants on the spot.

In statement to media houses after the incident, the Ministry of Defense said: “This was a training flight. Onboard were two pilots who have been evacuated from the crash site.”

The cause of the crash has not yet been established.

The aircraft is part of the six American-made light-attack helicopter gunships that were acquired by the ministry in January.
