Kenya leads in selfies with wildlife animals

A new report has identified Kenya among twenty other countries leading in the number of inappropriate selfies with wildlife animals.

The report, titled “Wildlife Selfies Report”, was released in a launching ceremony on Thursday at the Silver Springs hotel.

It was carried out by World Animal Protection through a study on social media, focusing mainly on Instagram.

The study sought to track social media users who post photos of themselves with wildlife animals in the frame.

Kenya, U.S, Tanzania, and South Africa led in this category, and the animals found to have been uploaded the most were lions and giraffes; with Kenyan Instagram users leading in giraffe selfies.

The report has classified such photos taken while hugging or holding the animals as “bad selfies” and warned social media users from taking and/or uploading them.
