Kenya Power employee killed by faulty re-connection

A Kenya Power employee died Thursday, September 23 night in Kisumu Town after he was electrocuted while replacing a transformer at Kondele area.

The Kenya Power worker died on the spot while his colleague was seriously wounded after he suffered burns.

He was rushed to Jaramogi Oginga Odinga Teaching and Referral Hospital where he is receiving treatment.

According to police, the technicians had switched off power to work on the transformer but a faulty re-connection led to the electrocution.

A similar incident occurred in Nakuru in April where two technicians contracted by the power firm were electrocuted.
