Kenya records 121 new coronavirus cases, 3 deaths and 44 recoveries

121 people tested positive for the new coronavirus between Wednesday and Thursday, the Ministry of Health has announced.

The new cases are from 3,291 samples and bring the total number of cases confirmed in the country to 3,215.

Kenya has so far tested 106,247 cases since the pandemic was first reported in the country.

115 of the new cases are Kenyans while 6 are foreigners and range between 4-months-old and 86-years-old in terms of age and consist of 92 males and 29 females.

The cases are distributed across the country as follows: Nairobi (49), Busia (37), Mombasa (20), Kajiado (5), Migori (4), Kiambu (2), Kilifi (2), Murang’a (1) and Nyeri (1).

Across the sub-counties the cases are distributed as follows: Kibra (18), Westlands (9), Kamukunji (4), Ruaraka (4) Dagoretti North (3), Embakasi Central, Embakasi West and Langata (2) cases each and Kasarani, Roysambu, Starehe and Makadara (1) case each.

In Busia all the 37 cases are truck drivers who tested positive at the Malaba border point.

In Mombasa, the cases are spread out as follows: Likoni (7), Mvita (5), Kisauni (3), Jomvu and Chamgamwe (2) cases each and Nyali (1).

In Kajiado, the (5) cases are distributed as follows: Kajiado East (3) and Kajiado Central (2).

In Migori, the (4) cases are from Suna East (2) while Kuria West and Kuria East have (1) case each.

In Kiambu, the (2) cases were recorded in Ruiru (1) and Kiambu Town (1).

In Kilifi, the (2) cases were recorded in Kilifi North while in Murang’a (1) case was recorded in Kiharu.

The single case in Nyeri is from Nyeri Central.

44 patients have also recovered from the COVID-19 in various facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries so far to 1,092.

At the same time, Kenya has recorded (3) new fatalities, bringing the total number of deaths from the coronavirus to 92.
