Kenya records 152 new coronavirus cases, 57 recoveries and 4 deaths

152 people have tested positive  for the new coronavirus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of confirmed cases to 3,457.

All the new cases are Kenyan citizens.

The cases are from 3403 samples tested between Friday and Saturday and bring to 112, 171 the total number of samples tested in the country so far.

They include 116 males and 36 females aged between 2-years-old and 65-years-old.

The cases are distributed across the country as follows: Nairobi(70), Mombasa (41), Busia (16), Kiambu (9), Kajiado (4), Machakos and Migori (3) each, Kisumu (2), Taita Taveta, Nakuru, Narok and Uasin Gishu (1) case each.

In Nairobi, the cases are distributed as follows:

Embakasi (21), Starehe (9), Makadara and Kamukunji (6) cases each, Kibra (5), Mathare (4), Dagoretti North and Embakasi West (3) cases each, Embakasi East, Roysambu, Langata, Kasarani and Westlands (2) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central and Embakasi North (1) case each.

In Mombasa, the cases are distributed as follows: Nyali (14), Mvita (10), Likoni (7), Kisauni (6) and Changamwe (4).

All the 16 new cases recorded in Busia are truck drivers tested at the Malaba point of entry.

In Kiambu county, the cases are distributed as follows: Ruiru (6), Thika (2) and Kikuyu (1).

In Kajiado, Kajiado Central and Loitoktok have recorded (2) cases each.

The three cases recorded in Machakos are distributed as follows: Athi River (2) and Mwala (1).

Suna West recorded (2) cases and while Suna East recorded (1) case in Migori.

In Kisumu, Kisumu Central and Kisumu East recorded (1) case each.

The one case reported in Uasin Gishu is from a truck driver who tested positive at Turbo.

In Narok, the (1) case is from Narok East while in Nakuru, the (1) case is from Nakuru West.

The (1) case from Taita Taveta is from Voi.

The Ministry of Health has also confirmed 4 fatalities from the virus, bringing the total number of deaths from the virus to 100.

Further, 57 patients have been discharged from various facilities, bringing the total number of recoveries to 1,221.
