Kenya records 241 new coronavirus cases, 66 recoveries

241 people have tested positive for the new coronavirus in Kenya, the Ministry of Health announced in a televised statement on Friday.

The new cases push the total number of positive cases in the country to 33,630

228 are Kenyan citizens while 47 are foreigners aged between 1 and 89-years-old, and include 192 males and 89 females.

The cases are distributed across the country as follows:

Nairobi (113), Mombasa (14), Kiambu (10), Taita Taveta (10 Kirinyaga (9), Narok (9), Kajiado(8), Uasin Gishu (6) , Laikipia (7), Nakuru (7), Turkana (6), Busia (5), Lamu (5), Trans Nzoia (4), Kilifi and Kericho (4) cases each, Kisumu (3), Nyeri, Machakos, Makueni and Bomet (2) cases each.

Kitui, Bungoma, Embu and Nyandarua and Nandi (1) case each.

At the same time, Kenya has announced 66 recoveries, bringing the total number of recoveries so far to 19,434.

There were no deaths reported between Thursday and Friday.

The number of fatalities so far is 567.
