Kenya records 671 new COVID-19 cases, 603 recoveries, three deaths

Kenya has recorded 671 more COVID-19 cases after testing of 6,200 samples, pushing the country’s total caseload to 23,873.

Addressing the press on Wednesday from Kenyatta University hospital, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe also announced that three more patients had succumbed to the coronavirus disease bringing the number of fatalities recorded in the country so far to 391.

The 671 more patients who have tested positive are aged between 3- 94 years and include 633 Kenyans and 38 foreigners.

Some 603 more patients have also recovered from the virus; 436 under the home-based care programme and 167 being discharged from hospitals, raising the total number of recoveries to 9,930.

Out of the 671 new cases, Nairobi has the majority at 376 followed by Kiambu at 112.
