Kenya records 83 new COVID-19 cases, 29 recoveries and 3 deaths
Kenya has recorded 83 more cases of the COVID-19, tested from a sample of 1,732 in the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Health said on Monday.
The total number of confirmed cases now stand at 100, 856 while the total of samples tested has hit 1,188,682.
From the new cases 61 are Kenyans, while 22 are foreigners; 46 are males while 37.
The youngest patient is a six-year-old child while the oldest 88.
In terms of County distribution; Nairobi 61, Uasin Gishu 6, Busia 4, Mombasa 4, Kiambu 2, Kilifi 2, Elgeyo Marakwet 1, Kericho 1, Machakos 1 and Migori 1.
In terms of Sub County distribution; the 61 cases in Nairobi are from Lang’ata (13), Dagoretti North (10), Kibra and Ruaraka (5) cases each, Embakasi South, Embakasi West, Makadara, Mathare, Roysambu and Starehe (3) cases each, Embakasi East, Kamukunji and Westlands (2) cases each, Dagoretti South, Embakasi Central, Embakasi North and Kasarani (1) case each.
In Uasin Gishu the 6 cases are from Ainabkoi (4), Kapseret and Kesses (1) case each while in Busia all the 4 cases are from Matayos.
In Mombasa the 4 cases are from Mvita (3) and Jomvu (1).
In Kiambu the 2 cases are from Githunguri and Thika (1) case each, while in Kilifi all the 2 cases are from Kilifi North.
The case in Elgeyo Marakwet is from Keiyo North, the case in Kericho is from Belgut, the case in Machakos is from Athi River and the case in Migori is from Suna East.
The Ministry of Health has also announced 29 new recoveries; 16 from the Home-Based Isolation and Care and 13 from various health facilities.
The country’s death toll has also risen to 1,766 after 3 patients succumbed to the virus between Sunday and Monday.
