Kenya records highest number of coronavirus recoveries in a day as positive cases rise to 672

Kenya has recorded the highest number of recoveries from coronavirus in a day after 32 people were discharged from various facilities.

Health CAS Dr. Rashid Aman said the total number of recoveries in the country now stands at 239.

Speaking at Afya House on Sunday, the CAS noted that the total number of coronavirus cases in Kenya has risen to 672.

This after 23 more people tested positive: 22 are Kenyans while one is a Burundian national.

20 of the cases were picked out by the surveillance team while three are from designated quarantine facilities.

The CAS said the new cases are from 1056 samples tested out across the country and are from Mandera (6), Nairob (4) and Kajiado (1) and Mombasa (12).

In Nairobi, those who tested positive are from Umoja (2), Komarock (1) and Pipeline (1).

In Mombasa, the people who tested positive are from Kisauni  (2), Likoni (2) and Mvita (8).

In Mandera, the cases are distributed in Mandera East (3), El Wak (1), Mandera North (1) and Mandera West (1).

In Kajiado, the one person from Saina Estate tested positive.

They are 13 males and 10 females with ages ranging between 1.9 years to 80 years.

Two more patients have died from coronavirus in Mombasa, bringing the total number of fatalities to 32.
