Kenya seeks Interpol help in search for 3 suspected drug barons

Kenya has sought the help of the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to pursue three suspected drug barons who are believed to have sneaked out of the country.

Addressing the media on the security situation at the Coast, Regional Commandant Noah Muivanda on Sunday said the three are suspected to have sneaked into one of the neighbouring countries.

According to Mr. Muivanda, the suspected drug barons, who are said to be trading in Cocaine, Heroin and other hard drugs, hail from Likoni area in Mombasa.

At the same time, the Coast Regional Commandant said police are holding one Member of County Assembly from Nyali, who was arrested over incitement claims.

He further said the operation to deal with importation of contraband goods in Mombasa has intensified, with 19 go-downs containing suspected illegal goods shut down and allocated police surveillance.

The Coast Regional police boss added that security agencies have managed to contain cases of terrorism in the region, especially in Lamu County due to increased surveillance in Boni forest.
