Kenyan Beach Ranked Among Best Worldwide

According to a report by the American travel Website TripAdvisor 2015, Diani was ranked 22 in the traveler’s choice category.
The rank has boosted the tourism sector putting Kenya on the world map.
In top 25 beaches Africa category, the beach was ranked third followed closely by Watamu which came position in 14.
The best beach in the world is Brazil’s Baia do Sancho with Anse Lazio of Seychelles toping Africa.
In hotel category, Medina Palms in Watamu was ranked 19 in top 25 African hotels.
STAKEHOLDERS COLLABORATION
Diani was voted as Africa’s leading beach destination in a 2014 report by the World Travel Awards.
The Coast region leaders and the tourist industry have expressed appreciation to the international recognition of the beaches and the hotel.
Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya said that his county government in corporation with the Tourism sector and investors, will continue to make Diani a better holiday resort in a move to attract more tourists both locally and internationally.
“I am delighted by the recognition of Diani since this is going to boost tourism in South coast,” said Mr. Mvurya.
Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi also commended the report saying that his county government will take the advantage of accolades to revive the sector.
"My government will improve the state of other beaches including Malindi, Kilifi, Kikambala and Mamburui to attrack more tourists," said Kingi.
