Kenyan born Harvard lecturer Prof Calestous Juma Dies

Prof Calestous Juma has passed on in Boston following a battle with cancer.

Taking to twitter, Cabinet Secretary for Foreign Affairs Amina Mohamed expressed sadness on the passing of Prof Juma.

“I have received the news of the passing on of my friend, compatriot and a role model Professor Calestous Juma, with a deep sense of great personal loss. May his soul rest in eternal peace.” wrote CS Amina

Prof Calestous Juma was until his death a Professor of the Practice of International Development and Faculty Chair of the Innovation for Economic Development Executive Program at Harvard Kennedy School.

Born on 9th June 1953,Prof Calestous Juma was an internationally recognized authority in the application of science and technology to sustainable development worldwide.

He was named one of the most influential 100 Africans in 2012, 2013 and 2014 by the New African magazine.
