Kenyan man charged with killing 11 women in the U.S.

A 46-year-old Kenyan man living in the U.S. was on Friday charged with the killing of 11 elderly women in Texas County.

According to AP News, Billy Kipkorir Chemirmir, also robbed his victims of their jewellery and other valuables.

“A well dressed man knocked on my door and said he was a maintenance worker. I told him I did not want any work done but he forced himself inside knocking me down.

“He grabbed a pillow from the couch and started to smother me. I began to pray, believing I was about to die,” said a 90-year-old victim.

Chemirmir, a former healthcare worker, is believed to be in U.S. illegally.

He has been in the Dallas County jail since March last year after he was charged with the murder of 81-year-old Lu Thi Harris.

Chemirmir was indicted on six additional counts of capital murder in Dallas County and five counts in Collin County.

In each of the cases, he is reported to have smothered his victims with a pillow before robbing them.

According to Kipkorir’s lawyer, Phillip Hayes, this week’s charges were a surprise as he had not yet had time to review them.

Some of the victims include Phyllis Payne, 91; Phoebe Perry, 94; Norma French, 85; Doris Gleason, 92; Rosemary Curtis, 76 and Mary Brooks 87.

Meanwhile, his family in Kabonyony Village, Eldama Ravine in Baringo County said they were still in shock over the recent developments.
