Kenyans happier than Tanzanians and Ugandans, report

Kenya has been ranked 124 in the United Nation’s annual World Happiness Report 2017.

In a report released on Thursday, Kenya beat its closest neighbour Tanzania and Uganda who were ranked 135 and 153 respectively.

Despite ranking better than her neighbours, Kenya has drop 12 places from the 2016 ranking.

Top of the chart was Finland, which rose from fifth place followed by Norway and Denmark ranked second and third respectively.

Burundi came last in the ranking with South Sudan and Central African Republic also featuring at the bottom.

The index ranked 156 countries based on the factors including life expectancy, social freedom and absence of corruption.

Migration was also a part of the study where countries were ranked based on the level of happiness exhibited by the migrants either away from the country or within the country.

“Increasingly, with globalisation, the people of the world are on the move and most of these migrants are seeking a happier life,” read the report.

Super power countries such as the, United States and United Kingdom ranked 18 and 19 on the list.

The United States has fallen one place than their previous position while the United Kingdom went up four places.
