Fury over woman’s Instagram post about Kibera girl

A woman has come under heavy criticism from Kenyans online after she wrote a seemingly alarming post about a young girl from Kibera.

Josefine Johansson took to Instagram to bid farewell to a young Kenyan girl who she had met at the slum four days ago.

In the post, she seems to imply that the happiest moment in the young girl’s life was meeting Johansson and her friends. According to her, the girl will meet a man in the next two years and have a baby with him but he will abandon them forcing her into prostitution to survive.

The post attracted a lot of interest online with users terming it as offensive, however, Instagram said no community guidelines were violated. Johansson has since deleted what she wrote and deactivated the comments section but retained the picture. Below is her original post and the reactions it elicited:
