Kenyas coronavirus cases near 20,000-mark as 788 more test positive

Kenya has reported 788 more coronavirus cases raising the total to 19,913.

Health CAS Rashid Aman said more males than females are still contracting the virus and they might need to re-evaluate their diet.

“I urge all of us to adopt a healthy lifestyle, avoid smoking and alcohol and engage in physical activities,” he said adding that mild symptoms of the virus can be managed by taking warm fluids and eating nutritious food.

According to Dr. Aman, 475 of the latest cases are male while 313 are women: they tested positive from 5,521 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

Three of 788 are foreigners while the rest are Kenyan citizens.

100 people have however been discharged in the last 24 hours: eight are from home based care while 92 were discharged from various hospitals.

The total number of recoveries now stands at 8,121.

Death-toll from coronavirus in Kenya has risen to 325 after 14 more patients succumbed to the disease.
