Kenya’s coronavirus cases rise to 234 as 9 more patients test positive

The number of coronavirus cases in Kenya has risen to 234 after nine more patients tested positive for COVID-19 in the country.

Addressing the nation from State House on Thursday, President Uhuru Kenyatta said one more patient had succumbed to the virus raising the total number of deaths to 11.

The nine new patients who have tested positive are aged between two and 64 years.

The total number of recoveries so far remains 53.

At the same time, the President disclosed that over 1,000 people are in quarantine and 156 under isolation as they undergo monitoring for the virus.
