Kenyas COVID-19 positivity rate now at 9.8pc, 376 new cases recorded
In a statement to the Press, the Ministry of Health said the total of positive cases confirmed, had hit 184,537 while the total number of samples tested had hit 1,963,532.
“From the cases, 363 are Kenyans while 13 are foreigners. 230 are males and 146 females.” the Ministry of Health said on Thursday. “The youngest is an eleven-month-old baby while the oldest is 91 years.”
There are 1,127 patients are currently admitted in various health facilities countrywide, while 5,722 patients are under Home Based Isolation and Care program
38 patients are being monitored.
Across the country, the new infections are spread out as follows: Nairobi 174, Uasin Gishu 37, Mombasa 27, Busia 24, Kisumu 24, Siaya 19, Kwale 7, Kakamega 7, Nyamira 7, Taita Taveta 7, Nakuru 6, Nandi 6, Kericho 6, Machakos 5, Kilifi 4, Bungoma 3, Vihiga 2, Kirinyaga 2, Murang’a 2, Nyandarua, Trans Nzoia, Meru, Elgeyo Marakwet, Embu, Homa Bay and Kiambu 1 case each
Meanwhile, Kenya has recorded 910 new recoveries, pushing the total number of recoveries to 126,594.
“516 recoveries were from the Home Based and Isolation Care program, while 394 were from various health facilities countrywide,” the Ministry said in the statement.
Further, 91,514 of the total recoveries are from Home Based Care and Isolation program, while 35,080 are from various health facilities.
At the same time, six new death have been reported; all of them are late death reports discovered after facility record audits in the months of April and June 2021.
