Kenyatta invites Raila,Wetangula for Madaraka day celebrations in Nakuru

President Uhuru Kenyatta has invited Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) leaders Raila Odinga and Moses Wetangula to the national Madaraka Day celebrations to be held in Nakuru’s Afraha Stadium Wednesday.

This is after President Uhuru and his deputy William Ruto held a brief meeting with the two opposition leaders at State House, Nairobi.

In a statement, State House Spokesman Manoah Esipisu said the President had invited the CORD leaders to attend a State Luncheon in honour of visiting Republic of Korea President Park Geun-hye.

Raila was forced to cut short his attendance at a funeral ceremony in Motonyi village in Narok County Tuesday afternoon to heed to the invite at State House, which he said was expected to focus on resolving the stalemate over the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
