Kenyatta Names New Central Bank Governor

President Uhuru Kenyatta has nominated Dr Patrick Ngugi as the Central Bank of Kenya Governor.

In an announcement to the Newsrooms, the President said that he had since forwarded his name to the National Assembly for approval.

Dr Ngugi, if approved by Parliament, will take over from Prof Njuguna Ndungu who has been at the helm of the country’s top bank – Central Bank.

He was among the five candidates interviewed by the Public Service Commission (PSC) for the top job.

Dr Ngugi will be deputised by Mr Harun Sirma and Ms Sheila Mbijiwe.

Mr Mohammed Nyaoga was nominated the chair of CBK.
