Kericho: Resident in shock after unknown people pour human waste into a water spring

Residents of Ainapsosiot village in Buchenge sub-location, Kericho county  are in shock after unknown people dumped human waste at a water spring that serves area residents.

Residents who had trooped to the spring early Sunday morning say human waste had been smeared on the walls of the reservoir and some had been poured into the water.

The reservoir which serves hundreds of local residents dates back to the colonial period and is the only source of water nearby.

Residents have had to travel far and wide in search of water as investigation into the matter kick off.

Peter Rono, a resident, said they are currently trying to figure out which pit latrine the waste was drawn from in attempt to solve the puzzle.

Although there are no leads, locals who are wary of contracting waterborne diseases have called on police to conduct probe and bring the culprits to book.
